This Privacy Policy explains how MoodDeck ("MoodDeck," the "App," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the MoodDeck mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
MoodDeck is operated by an independent individual developer (the "Developer"). You can contact us at any time at kjk2678@gmail.com.
Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service. By downloading, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. A Note About What MoodDeck Is
MoodDeck is a lifestyle and personal-journaling app. It lets you record how you feel and offers AI-generated reflections, phrases, music suggestions, and small self-care prompts.
MoodDeck is not a medical, healthcare, mental-health, diagnostic, or treatment service, and the information you enter is not treated as medical or health records. We process the content you enter only to operate the journaling features described below. Please do not enter information you would not be comfortable processing as ordinary app content. See Section 6 ("AI Processing").
2. Who May Use the Service
The Service is intended only for individuals 17 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a person under 17 has provided us information, contact us at kjk2678@gmail.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the Service:
a) Account information
When you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive a unique account identifier and, depending on what the provider and you choose to share, your name and email address. If you use Sign in with Apple's private email relay, we receive only the relay address, not your real email.
b) Your journal entries ("Mood Logs")
- The text you write to describe your mood.
- The mood coordinates (a position you select on a mood field).
- The language of your entry and the input method (typing, device voice dictation, or coordinate-only).
Voice input: If you dictate text using your device's built-in keyboard/dictation feature, the speech-to-text conversion is performed by your device's operating system, not by MoodDeck. We receive and store only the resulting text. We do not record, collect, or store audio.
c) AI-generated content and feedback
The cards generated for you (phrases, music suggestions, action prompts), the visual "prints," and any star ratings you give them.
d) Subscription and purchase information
If you purchase MoodDeck PLUS, your payment is processed by Apple or Google — we never receive or store your full payment card number. Through our subscription provider RevenueCat, we receive your subscription status, store transaction identifiers, and an app user identifier, so we can unlock paid features and restore purchases.
e) Device and technical information
Basic technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, and language settings, and — if you enable notifications — a push notification token.
f) Communications
If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.
g) Advertising information (free tier only)
If you use the free tier, the App shows occasional rewarded ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure these ads and to prevent fraud, Google may process technical data such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, device and OS information, and ad-interaction events. We request non-personalized ads only, and we do not provide your journal entries, account email, or mood data to the ad network. MoodDeck PLUS subscribers do not see ads. See Section 11 ("Advertising and Third-Party Services").
What we do not do
- We do not show ads to MoodDeck PLUS subscribers, and we request non-personalized ads for free-tier users.
- We do not share your journal entries, mood data, or account email with advertising networks.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not record or store audio.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the journaling and mood-card features;
- Generate AI cards based on the mood text and coordinates you submit;
- Save your history so you can revisit entries and weekly summaries;
- Manage your account and authenticate you;
- Process and restore subscriptions and unlock paid features;
- Display and measure rewarded advertisements for free-tier users (PLUS subscribers see no ads);
- Send notifications you have enabled;
- Respond to your support requests;
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, debug, and comply with legal obligations.
5. How We Share Information (Service Providers)
We share information only with the service providers ("subprocessors") that make the App work, and only as needed:

We may also disclose information (a) to comply with law, legal process, or lawful government requests; (b) to enforce our Terms or protect the rights, safety, and property of our users, the Developer, or the public; or (c) in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the Service, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy.
6. AI Processing
To create your cards, the text and mood coordinates you submit are transmitted to a third-party AI provider (currently GitHub Models, which provides access to models such as OpenAI's). This processing is automated and used to generate your cards.
Because your entries are sent to a third-party AI service for processing, please avoid entering information you would not want processed this way — including precise medical details, financial account data, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive information. AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable and is provided for general informational and self-reflection purposes only (see the Terms of Service).
7. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account (see Section 8), we delete or anonymize your associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Backups are purged on a rolling basis.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correction: You can view and edit your entries within the App.
- Delete your account and data: You can delete your account directly in the App (Settings → Account → Delete Account). This permanently deletes your account and all associated data (including your mood logs, cards, ratings, and prints) from our systems, and cannot be undone. You may also email kjk2678@gmail.com for assistance.
- Notifications: You can turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
- Subscriptions: You manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account settings (see the Terms of Service).
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection) under laws like the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any such right, contact kjk2678@gmail.com. We will respond as required by applicable law. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under U.S. state privacy laws.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (including encryption in transit and access controls provided by our infrastructure providers) to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.
10. International Data Transfers
The Service relies on cloud providers that may store and process information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your information in such countries, subject to appropriate safeguards where required by law.
11. Advertising and Third-Party Services
Advertising (free tier). For users on the free tier, MoodDeck shows rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Google acts as an independent third party and processes certain technical data (such as a device advertising identifier, IP address, device/OS information, and ad-interaction events) to serve, cap, measure, and protect against fraud in these ads. We configure AdMob to request non-personalized ads, and we do not share your journal entries, mood data, or account email with Google for advertising. Google's handling of data is governed by Google's policies, including the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Your ad choices.
- Remove ads entirely by subscribing to MoodDeck PLUS.
- On iOS, you can limit ad tracking and reset your advertising identifier in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and Apple Advertising.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalization in Settings → Google → Ads.
Other third-party content. The Service may include links or references to third-party content (for example, music suggestions that link to external platforms such as YouTube). We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies.
12. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. See Section 2.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
